Tenhulzen Construction respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect when you use our website or contact us, why we collect it, and what choices you have. We have tried to write it in plain language rather than legal filler.
This policy covers tenhulzenconstruction.com, tenhulzenpainting.com, and the landing pages we run for seasonal promotions. It does not govern any construction or painting agreement you sign with us. Those terms live in your contract.
What we collect
Information you give us. When you fill out a form, call, email, or text us, we collect what you choose to share. Usually that is your name, email address, phone number, the address of the property, and whatever you tell us about your project. If you become a client, we also collect the information needed to do the work and get paid, including job site details, plans and selections, scheduling information, and billing records.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, ours records basic technical information when you visit: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, how long you stayed, and the site or ad that sent you. We use cookies and similar technologies for this. If you arrived from one of our ads or emails, the link may carry tags that tell us which campaign brought you.
Photos of completed work. We photograph the projects we complete. We use those photos in our marketing. We do not publish client names or street addresses alongside project photos, and we do not photograph the inside of a home for marketing without the homeowner’s agreement.
How we use it
- To answer your question and follow up about your project
- To schedule and prepare an estimate
- To perform the work, order materials, coordinate our crew and any subcontractors, and handle warranty questions
- To invoice and collect payment
- To send you email newsletters and occasional promotions, if you have opted in
- To understand which marketing actually works, so we spend less on what does not
- To meet our legal, tax, insurance, and licensing obligations
We do not sell your personal information. We never have.
Who we share it with
We share information only where it is needed to run the business:
- Service providers who work on our behalf, including our customer relationship and email platforms, our project management software, payment processors, and our marketing agency. They are permitted to use the information only to provide their service to us.
- Subcontractors and suppliers, when performing your project requires it. This is limited to what the work needs, such as a delivery address or a site contact.
- Advertising and analytics providers, including Google and Meta, which help us measure website traffic and ad performance. These providers may set cookies and receive information about your visit.
- When the law requires it, or to protect our rights, our people, or someone’s safety.
Email and text messages
If you opt in to our newsletter or promotional emails, every message we send includes an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing stops the marketing email. It does not stop the ordinary messages we need to send about an active project.
We do not send marketing text messages without your express consent. If you give us your phone number through a form, we use it to call or text you about your inquiry and your project, not to add you to a marketing list.
Your choices
You can ask us to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it if it is wrong, or delete it. You can opt out of marketing email at any time. You can set your browser to refuse cookies, though parts of the site may not work as well.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal information. Washington residents have specific rights regarding consumer health data under the My Health My Data Act. We do not knowingly collect health data. If accessibility or aging-in-place needs come up while planning your project, we treat that as confidential project information and do not use it for advertising.
To make a request, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify who you are before we act on it.
How long we keep it
We keep inquiry information for as long as it is useful to follow up, and client and project records for as long as we need them for warranty, tax, insurance, and legal purposes. When we no longer need information, we dispose of it securely.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect the information we hold, including access controls and vetted software vendors. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.
Payment security
We will never email you to change or update payment instructions, and we will never send wiring instructions you did not request. If you receive a message that appears to come from us asking you to send funds, call us at the number on this website to verify before you act.
Children
Our website is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes
We may update this policy as our business or the law changes. When we do, we will change the “last updated” date above.
