Mill Creek Park Bridge Construction

We’re dedicated to our community, from building dream homes renovating the Mill Creek Park Bridge. We cherish the spirit of community engagement and the synergistic relationships it creates. Our long history of philanthropic work with the Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish Counties (MBAKS) and Dunn Lumber includes events like Rampathon and Painting a Better Tomorrow. We’ve also partnered with our Painting Contractors Association on projects for PAWS Companion Animal Shelter, veteran housing, and low-income housing.

Mill Creek Park Bridge Construction

A few years ago, we proudly joined the Rotary Club of Mill Creek, an organization focused on community involvement, supporting those less fortunate, and funding other mission-aligned organizations. The Tenhulzen team has collaborated with Rotary on several community projects, including work for Everett women’s shelter Peoria Home, the Mill Creek Community Food Bank, and Everett youth and family shelter Cocoon House.

Our most recent project with the Mill Creek Community Association involved repairing two Heron Park bridges, with contributions from Dunn Lumber. These bridges, originally donated and built by Mill Creek Rotary members, had deteriorated, posing a safety risk to park-goers. With increased foot traffic on Mill Creek’s walking trails, these repairs were essential for the community.

One bridge is owned by the Heron Park HOA, and the other is on city property. We’re working closely with both leadership teams to complete the project. Photos throughout this blog show the HOA bridge under construction. During the demolition, we discovered and replaced a rotted center support beam. Our construction division handled the bridge deck and beam replacement, while our paint crew washed the railings and framing.

This seemingly simple project was incredibly meaningful for both our community and our team. Our crew enjoyed interacting with runners and walkers on the trails, guiding them across partially deconstructed sections or redirecting them. The verbal appreciation from passers-by was a real boost after weeks of staying home. Tenhulzen and the Mill Creek community remain grateful to the Rotary Club of Mill Creek and Dunn Lumber for their continued support on these vital community projects. If you haven’t experienced it, we invite you to visit the Mill Creek Park Bridge.
